BioDataExploiter: A Semantic Search Engine Based on Formalization and Semantic Integration of Heterogeneous Omics Annotations for Knowledge Extraction

BioDataExploiter is a semantic search engine for performing aspect-based querying on integrated omics annotations. This project has two main functional components. First, heterogeneous and geographically dispersed omics annotations are integrated and warehoused in our RDF-based Integrated Omics Quad Store (IOQS). IOQS is built on our proposed formal data integration model and capable enough to persist integrated annotations in a unified manner. Based on IOQS, second component enables end users to perform aspect based querying through three data access interfaces (1) web query interface provides querying facility through typing or selecting different graphical query interface components (2) web services interface enables end users to integrate their online systems for bulks data access (3) application programming interface provides data access interface for especially those applications which require offline and freestanding data processing. BioDataExploiter provides web-based and downloadable query results in the form of interconnected database entities as data systematically generates in a human cellular system.
