Four Quadrant Drive for BLDC motor for traction purpose - Introduction

Four Quadrant Drive for BLDC motor for traction purpose

Four Quadrants represents the four modes of operation of BLDC motor. First and third quadrant represent the forward and reverse motoring respectively. Whereas fourth and second quadrant represent the forward and reverse braking respectively. Four quadrant drive will make vehicle able to move in forward and reverse direction, it will also provide the function of regenerative braking so that energy can feed back to the energy resource it will increase the efficiency and reliability of vehicle.
