Spectrum analyzer is a device that is used to determine the spectral composition of a signal. The FlexTrainer can be used to find the spectrum of a signal applied to its input. In general, a periodic signal is represented by scaled sum of sinusoidal signals as given by:

The FlexTrainer is capable of spectrum analysis of any waveform applied at its input. FlexTrainer provides the facility to change the starting frequency and frequency range of the spectrum that is displayed on the oscilloscope. This enables to observe the spectrum of a signal in detail by selecting a proper display.

There are questions at the end of the experiment to motivate the students to explore the significance of spectrum analysis.
