Dr. Shahid Mahmood Awan [Consultant]
Shahid received his PhD and MS degrees in Computer Science from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore in 2014 and 2008 respectively. Previously, he received his MSc. degree in Computer Science and BSc (Math, Physics) degree from Punjab University, Lahore in 2004 and 2001 respectively.
His research group is mainly focused on electric power systems and he is working with many national and international power industries for Energy Flow Monitoring/Data Collection, Power Planning, Energy Efficient Operation, Energy Consumption Prediction and Variable Generation Forecasting from renewable sources.
Prior to joining KICS, he has been working as Senior Software Engineer at FiverRivers Technologies (pvt) Ltd. Lahore for more than 2 years. During this tenure he worked on various national and international level; research and development based projects.
Machine Learning, Optimization Techniques, Swarm Intelligence, Forecasting, Support Vector Regression, Artificial Neural Models, Evolutionary Algorithms, Deep Learning, Time Series Analysis, Applications in electricity market research and economics.
Other areas include Software Engineering, Web Service Composition, Service-Oriented Architectures (SOAs).
