Brain Modeling with Brain Computer Interface for wheelchair Navigation - Introduction

Brain Modeling with Brain Computer Interface for wheelchair Navigation

The aim of this project is to develop a brain controlled smart wheelchair specially designed for people with severe disabilities having limited or no mobility. This project involves brain modeling and development of Brain Computer Interface for navigation of wheelchair. Electroencephalography (EEG) signals are used to record brain activity. Features extracted from these waves are used to classify prospective actions and generate control signals for navigation. Due to the highly sensitive system extra safety of the user will be ensured by integrating high quality obstacle avoidance along with the controlled navigation. Apart from automated wheelchair, it has a number of applications ranging from home automation to entertainment.
