KICS’s HUTIC Actively Participated in Huawei ICT Skill Competition
Huawei and its learning partners recently organized a competition in Pakistan called ‘Huawei ICT Skill Competition Pakistan’. It was undoubtedly a great opportunity for the candidates to learn the valuable networking knowledge. Besides, the competition provided the candidates with an experience to compete in a competitive environment, a chance to test their skills and recognize their weaknesses, display their knowledge and create interactive networking skills respectively.
The content of the competition was primarily based on the following aspects:
Network Fundamentals, Principle of Switches and Routers, TCP/IP Protocol Family, Routing Protocols, Access Control, Troubleshooting of Network Faults, Installation and Commissioning of Huawei Routing and Switching Devices.
First round of the competition took place from 15th to 23rd November 2016 in Lahore and Islamabad, where 40 students qualified for the second round. Second round of the competition happened on 11th December 2016 in Lahore, where 3 students qualified for the third round. Third round (the final round) of the competition will take place in China at Huawei Headquarters in February 2017. The second round three winners will fly to China to attend the final round at Huawei Headquarters free of cost on Huawei’s expenditures.
Apart from China’s return ticket for Huawei headquarters, there are other prizes offered to the candidates. First prize is Huawei P9 Smart Phone and HCIE Exam Voucher, second prize is Hauwei Smart Watch and HCNP Exam Voucher and third prize is Huawei Y5 II Smart Phone and HCNP Exam Voucher.
HUTIC (Huawei UET Telecom IT Center) KICS UET Lahore made a big participation and contribution to the first round of the competition. The seminars and interactive sessions were conducted in various universities such as University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Lahore Garrison University, Lahore College for Women University, Kinnaird College and COMSATS Lahore. Huawei appreciated HUTIC’s efforts consumed for this competition.
