National Library of Engineering Sciences UET Lahore started RFID tag writing process to fully automate check-in and check-out process at its circulation desk. After successful deployment of KOHA Dhoom, an Integrated Library System (ILS) developed by LMS group Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science , another mile stone was achieved by National Library of Engineering Sciences UET Lahore. it is first deployment of its nature in any library in Pakistan and will improve circulation process as well as enhance security. RFID tag pasting on books is in progress and self check-in/check-out functionality will be fully operational in September 2009 (inshAllah)
