Huawei Technologies is a multinational company emerged as a leader in providing next generation telecommunications networks, headquarters at Shenzhen in China. Huawei Technologies specializes in research and development (R&D), production and marketing of communications equipments, and providing worldwide customized network solutions for telecom carriers. Huawei is one of the leading vendors in the world. It serves 31 of the world's top 50 operators, as well as over one billion users worldwide.

Huawei Technologies has invested equipment of worth 5.2 millions dollars in HUTIC, in order to strengthen technological research in the university. The company has provided state of the art wireless, mobile and telecommunication equipment to UET for research and training of graduates. The deal followed an earlier agreement for Huawei to supply GSM (global system for mobile communication) equipment worth $3m to UET. So the new equipment adds Huawei's investment up to US $ 8.3 million in Pakistan. In line with the nature of the long standing relationship that Pakistan and China enjoy, Huawei has also taken steps to transfer technical expertise to Pakistani public. So far approximately 1000 UET students and 600 technical engineers have got hands on experience and training on Huawei's equipment.
