An MOU between CERAD (Center for Energy Research and Development) and Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft e.V (German Solar Association, BSW-Solar) was inked recently. The German company is interested to cooperate with CERAD to increase the demand for high quality PV Products all over Pakistan. The agreement between the two entities is about the dissemination of the IEC quality standards for PV through trainings. The main purpose of the trainings is to help people understand the importance and benefits of PV quality products, to increase the share of solar energy and contribute to the sustainable development of renewable energy in Pakistan. According to the MOU, the target group of these trainings will be the installers, but also relevant factors related with the development of PV.
CERAD will act as a multiplier in the dissemination of IEC quality standards in Pakistan, whereas BSW-Solar as a partner in this deed will provide the necessary support to achieve this goal. This agreement includes capacity building measurements such as quality trainings for installers (target audience). Further activities of the agreement include selecting 4 personnel from CERAD to act as multipliers who will be trained by BSW-Solar Germany and the training of these personnel will take place on 14th, 15th and 16th of December 2016 in Lahore. A pilot training will be conducted on 21st December 2016 in Lahore with 20 installers. The agreement has it that the dissemination of the quality standards will be done through trainings.
CERAD is committed to organize and conduct at least 3 quality trainings with minimum 25 participants per training by next year i.e. 2017.
